Four New Platforms Now Live!

We’re thrilled to share the launch of four new campus reuse platforms helping schools keep items circulating instead of heading to the landfill.

From lab equipment and office supplies to dorm essentials, these platforms make it easier than ever to trade, claim, and share items across campus, saving space, supporting sustainability, and promoting smart resource-sharing.

The University of Alabama at Birmingham has officially launched UAB Green Marketplace, iWasteNot’s first lab-focused ReCap platform, and it hit the ground running!

Supporting UAB’s Green Labs Program, the Green Marketplace helps researchers and lab staff share surplus equipment and materials, keeping valuable resources in use and out of the landfill.

With its strong start and clear benefits, UAB Green Marketplace is already proving to be a big success, showing how smart resource-sharing can support research, promote sustainability, and reduce campus waste.

Macalester College has launched Scot’s Surplus, a smart new way for staff to list items before they become surplus.

The platform is now live and makes it easy for items to move directly from one office to another, reducing the need to send them to storage and freeing up valuable warehouse space.

Items that aren’t claimed within two weeks are automatically transferred to the facilities team, where they can still be requested. Fully integrated with Macalester’s TopDesk system, the portal streamlines trading, tracking, and managing surplus items, making the process faster, easier, and more sustainable than ever.

CSU Dominguez Hills is joining the student reuse movement with Toro Thrift, their brand-new Student Reuse Portal.

Now, students and staff can share items they no longer need and claim items for free, from dorm essentials to everyday treasures.

Cal Poly is making sustainability tangible with the launch of Mustang Reuse, another new Student Reuse Portal.

Students and staff can now easily share and claim free items, keeping perfectly good goods circulating on campus.

We’re excited to share that a new feature is on the way for the Student Reuse Portal App — Fresh Food Alerts!

This upcoming addition will make it easier for everyone on campus to reduce food waste and share surplus food from events, meetings, or dining halls. Users will soon be able to post and receive real-time notifications when free food is available — helping keep good food out of the landfill while feeding hungry members of the campus community.
